| Does your racquet hurt? Try a rubberband! |

All tennis racquets experience some vibration when hitting a ball. This vibration can cause arm, elbow, and wrist pain, which over time can become chronic. Even if your arm doesn't hurt, the vibration of a racquet on impact can be unpleasant, at the least. Many different vibration dampeners are available to alleviate this problem. Some work well, some not as much. But there's one vibration dampener that many people are unaware of—the humble rubberband! Don't laugh—Andre Agassi used a standard "#64" rubberband as a dampener on his racquets throughout his career. And believe it or not, a rubberband can make a huge difference in the feel of your racquet. Try it—you'll probably be amazed at the difference. Here's a link showing, in pictures, how to attach the rubberband: When tying the rubberband onto your racquet, remember that the rules of tennis stipulate that dampeners have to be entirely below the lowest cross string.
